World of Darkness gear? (opinions)

They're somewhat-opposites of the LoTA gear; whereas LoTA had Light armor, WoD has Dark armor.

Look at the two tank sets; the bodies are almost the same model, just different colors (and the cloth on the back is tattered on the WoD set). The physical jobs also have demonic horns as crowns or the helm (not sure about BRD hat, though; haven't really looked at it yet. It may be closer to the caster set)

The DRG armor looks really nice though, and I need to see the tank body before deciding if its better than the High Allagan Coat...

My personal opinion is, from what I see...

Tank gear is the best hands down. I'm horridly disappointed by the BLM gear. Like, if it wasn't for the Cloud of Darkness, I'd be completely disinterested in the World of Darkness. Healing piece is cute, on Lala's, but it is essentially a mirror of casting dps gear.

Caster gear looks like an off shoot of blm af and the blm pvp hat with out the ears. It looks dumb, designer should be ashamed.

While I know many players will appreciate how much less "over the top" the new CT sets are, I am once again a little disappointed by the amount of palette swaps, particularly on the DoMs who have been getting this treatment since the LotA without fail.

Otherwise, the overall looks and aesthetics will once again come down to personal taste, but those hats for mages and BRDs... *raises pinky*

I am not so sure tanks and lancers/drg have "their own look." There are differences to be sure, but I'm still seeing similarities. Check out the shoulders, some body accents, and a bit of the feet armor.

They look... uninspiring? Or uninspired, maybe? Idek. Such minor changes again, tank reminds me of the armor of light set, monk is especially on that miqo like they got undershirts on maybe with GC pants (and altogether similar to nin af i think?), dragoon looks like a mix of their af and elements of allagan caster gear?... nin I don't even know, much is hidden with that raised knee pose. Bard - I saw bard and immediately thought of their af gear again. Caster and healer...oh boy. Nevermind the fact that smn and blm is most probably gonna end up sharing the same gear again, same for whm and sch, but HELLA...caster and healer seem to be sharing the same gear too? Basically just re-dyed, the whole thing, which has indeed been going on for too long, and it does indeed feel lazy and not at all motivating. I get that certain jobs sharing gear saves some bandwidth/space somewhere, but like...really? It has to be this significant and nobody is actually concerned about it (doesn't seem so for sure)??
All in all, the one thing I can think of is something I've expressed earlier already, several times too I think: things need to be slowed down a little. Polish things, fix issues, send the devs on a vacation, heck - hire some more ppl. I don't really feel like we're seeing anything new in these sets tbh, which is disappointing. Even that horn element, in a way, feels like a lazy way to have all the loot "unified". :/

AND FOR SANITY'S SAKE REMOVE THE 1000 CHARACTER LIMIT ALREADY.

After seeing them on an actual PC and not just a illustration of the gear, all I feel is a whole lotta MEH.
This is just my personal preference, but I'm let down.

That bard gear is sexy.

I looooove the monk/ninja sets! The tank looks pretty badass and a must get aswell.

As for the rest, they look great but not particularly amazing though. Actually makes me happy I switched from summoner to ninja! xD

Aside from that fabulous healer hat, I'm thoroughly unimpressed. I'll collect the whole set for the sake of having it, but I'm not thrilled to wear or glamour any of it.

Probably the first set in which I'll acquire a piece due to stats and not for glamours lol.
