Oh and i just remembered, didn't the Ascians want to summon Zodiarc back then in 2.1 or so? Their storyline will most likely come to a conclusion during 2.5 and we still haven't seen Zodiarc. Which means it's most likely the mistery trial.

No, the ascians are going to be foes for a long time I think, they are possibly linked to the 12 others Eons of Ivalice, that would make a lot of possible fights and stuff, I don't think they would just rush their death for now, they already have enough to do with the meany lalafells in Ul'dah and the dragon war in Ishgard.
We're never fighting Zodiark as he is a giant crystal, like Hydaelyn. He represents chaos/evil, Hyd represents light. Ascians causing chaos weakens Hyd and strengthens Zodiark.
Here's what he looks like if you're curious:

The first bit is a bit speculative. Yes. there was a shield around Ishgard, but we don't know if it was keeping people out since they had to implement physical means as well (gates and soldiers ready to kill). If anything, it was protecting Ishgard from a dravanian horde attack.
The second part is just wrong. Mystery trial is in 2.5 part, Battle of Ishgard is in 2.5 part 2. Also defeats the purpose of calling something a mystery trial , if you then name it on the same info slide.
I wouldn't say never. He's a primal and they are trying to ressurect him. It would be weird if they didn't succeed at some point, maybe in 2.5 or 3.X.
Still think it would be a fitting ending for their story arc - a huge dark primal god. That could be the reason why 2.5 was split in two parts. The first concluding the story of ascians and zodiark, second focusing on Ishgard. It's all speculation of course, but I think it's very possible. Why else did they call it "Mystery trial"? Because they didn't want to give any spoilers, obviously.
I got betrayed twice in two weeks so maybe that's a good thing*. Maybe I'll resub for it
I like Minfilia. I dont find her annoying at all. I have often wondered why most of the "Leaders" in the game are all female though.
Id be careful drawing conclusions from the trailer. SE isnt going to give away major plot points in the trailer like that.
I've stated my opinion so...

DEAL WITH IT!
Also I only said we may be the only surviving member until we find others that survived the events of 2.5/2.55 in maybe 3.0 due to going MIA. I never said anyone will die. :p
The story can go many ways but it seems it may go the..
Great battle -> Losing Battle -> Hero escape with his or her life -> Seek sanction after escaping -> Bad Guy successfully win -> Find Sanction in Ishgard -> "End up being at the right place on the wrong time" moment (the battle of Ishgard) -> Save Ishgard -> We are given Sanction in Ishgard -> Can't find out what happened to everyone else so everyone assume the Warrior of Light is the only one to escape -> Bad Guy now controls all City States in Eorzea, except for Ishgard, by using the Crystal Brave and other minions -> Boom 2.5 Part 2 end with dramatic Cutscene showing our Character, new places we will go, and new NPCs we will meet in 3.0 that may help us take back Eorzea from the bad guys.
but this is all specualations :p
