Hurray! Finally saved up 6mil for my personal house!

There are no smalls left on any high-population servers. Personal housing is a mess, basically, someone at S-E thinks solo players can actually afford a medium+.

Houses are not just "RP". They can be furnished with crafting bonus stations, high-profit gardens, and chocobo stables, as well as various other more minor QoL additions. They can also be installed with aetherytes that are exceedingly cheap to teleport to, over halving the cost of accessing their QoL resources as opposed to going to a city for them.

They are centralized bases of economic power within the game.

The funny thing is that they justify the wards system by saying people asked for neighborhoods, yet said neighborhoods are mostly desert. I am in my FC's ward daily and it's a miracle if there's more than 6 people in the zone at any given time. Imo, this is what they should've done:

1) Make instanced housing. This allows everyone to have a house, especially if instead of gil it asks for GC points or Main Scenario progress like for most of other games. I'm thinking of an instance similar to the Demon Doors in the Fable games, with house, yard with field, well and whatever. It would start with small, and will be able to be expanded through further accomplishments.
2) Make the housing wards, limited as they are now (since they don't have the servers do add more currently). For a fee (like the current fees we have now), you'll be able to move your instanced house inside the ward. Of course, the price will raise with your instanced house's size, and you'll need to select a plot your house can fit in.

This way, all those who want a house can have a house, and all those who actually care to have a neighborhood (and will use it), can have a neighborhood. Houses for all, and no more ghost towns.

Sadly some solo players can. *points at all the RL-rich kids selling wedding bands for millions*

A) It's going to be literally impossible to have a house for every player. Do the math. X number of houses by like 80k players. So it makes sense that if you take too long you'll miss out. You say it doesn't make sense to you but I challenge you to do the math and find out how it would ever make sense. "Is there any way to add a few sections full of only small houses for personal homes?" yes but that involves adding expensive servers just for housing. It would never be economically possible for it to be done.

B) As you farmed it might have been a good idea to actually look at the wards as you went so that you wouldn't be surprised.

Square really needs to go further with Inn rooms or personal Guild Housing rooms. Houses will never ever fit the demand.

I can afford a medium house and a mansion for my Free Company.

It's amazing how ridiculously easy Gil is to gain when you craft and sell Ehcatl Sealant.

I don't really want a personal house but I would like a plot of land to grow stuff on. Something similar to WoWs farm with a stable instead of a hut.

On Tonberry, there was one guy who bought the last large property on my subdivision as a personal house >.>. I just wonder how he got all that money on his own. But OP, FCs might have more gil but because of the way housing items are done not many of them would be willing to leave their small properties. I certainly don't want to think about moving because I don't want to lose everything that I have put down in my personal room and also in the FC house.

If they made it so that items saved to the house or something then it would easier for FCs to move to larger housing plots to free up land for personal housing.

Only one thing left to do... Invade someone's unlocked house and call it yours.

Point is, there is nothing wrong with SE thinking players can afford medium houses. Anyone who actually tries to save up that kind of money will likely find a very easy way to do so. For me it was Demimateria and Ehcatl Sealant, even without that I could net ~500k/day off 30 minutes of basic Culinarian recipes... Even without crafting, the Duty Roulette, Challenge Log, and Treasure Maps were throwing Gil at me...

So disregarding that 50 CUL is nowhere near "basic crafting", the Duty Roulette, Challenge Log, and Treasure Maps might make you 50k a day on average, and Ehcatl Sealant isn't exactly the hottest stuff on some more populated servers...

Look, I'm proud of you for capitalizing on a server market need but I don't think that's relevant to the discussion of what your average casual player experiences.
