Maybe SE could just write you check for two dollars?
Maybe SE could just write you check for two dollars?
Since it was a problem on Sony's end, you should be looking more into what Sony can do to compensate, rather than SE to compensate the time that the systems were down. Although I don't think Sony would compensate for the down time as well, but you might be looking for compensation in the wrong place.
What should be extended at most is the Christmas event.
But realistically, seasonal events get done day 1 anyway. Everyone under normal circumstances had time to get them done, to not warrant an extension.
Truly though, unless it was a significant amount of time down from PSN, SONY would be the one to approach the gamers and it'd be most likely only towards PS-Plus users anyway for lost paid time.
Get away from this "I'm entitled to this... because of this..." crap. Real world might bite you where it hurts.
I play on the PS4 and since this problem was caused by an attack on the playstation and had nothing to do with SE I do not expect any compensation from them as their game was still playable on the PC. I did miss a friends Eternal Bond though but not much you can do about that /shrug
Why should we (the paying consumers) be punished for something that is CLEARLY not our fault?
It doesn't really matter if it is Sony or Square Enix, probably both of them have some share of "fault", but it certainly is NOT the players fault.
So some compensation really SHOULD happen.
People lost their garden plants with Thavnarian onions, lost one-time only weddings, lost ehcatl sealants (over 1 million gil in 5 days of daily quests), some even lost their coil statics.
Obvious troll thread is obvious. Nobody can be this dense, can they?
I also play on ps4, could not log in during the down time, and don't feel SE should do anything about it. (Nor should Sony, but they're being pretty generous imo with what Sony is already offering)
Seriously, what did I just read? How could it possibly be SE's fault that Sony got DDoS'ed? That's quite the leap of logic there. Hell, it's not even really Sony's fault either, but they're giving compensation anyway.
It's the fault of the asinine script kiddies that perpetuated the attack, and nobody else.
christmas DDOS attacks, truly the gift that keeps on giving.
