Curtana and Holy Shield Nexus Upgrade - Are you seriously kidding me?

This is OP's fault.
But still this does not change the fact that it is bad design on the quest.
There is no reason to not give players the "2 item turn in box" or something, noone is gonna soulglaze only sword or shield on purpose - this shouldn't even be an option IMHO.

You can not excuse the bad design of this step of the quest by saying step one is the same bad design. It does not get better by repeating.
This game rocks but noone needs to defend bad design..

i want the aegis, it just looks too good to pass up... excal on the other... id likely glam it to zan for dark and light looks

You probably had a million times to notice you weren't doing this correctly... When you used the items to check for lights, you didn't notice at all that you didn't get any lights for your shield? You did the item upgrades, book up grades, and materia upgrades for your shield, shouldn't you know you don't get a free ride for the shield?

Look on the bright side, you got a nexus sword, so this should open the next line of quest for you. Since you're gonna be spamming dugeons anyways, you might aswell equip that shield and get them lights for it!

I would seriouly stop playing if this happened to me. Tens of hours half wasted. Not worth $12/month.

I am 100% positive I soulglazed both. At some point, the shield became un-glazed. GM's response: go farm another 2000 lights.

Wrong. You cannot progress without both. There is no bright side to this. SE really screwed some people with this and refuse to even address the problem.

One for sword and the other for shield

Soul glaze on both was the first thing I checked on the npc when the quest was first released and let my fc/ls know, hey guys if your doing pld make sure u hit both

I think the biggest clue is when you soulglaze, you see the sword and shield right there on the list, so to miss this step you'd have to really narrow your view to one line of text and rush through the menu without checking things out properly. The lesson to people is always take your time to know what you are selecting. I double check when I buy tomestone items that I am buying the right thing. When I leave a cash machine in real life, I double check that I took my card out the machine and put it back in my wallet before I walk away.
