450 is still way too low of a cap, considering all I need to do is my daily ex roulette for alexandrite (something I'd already be doing daily anyway) and I could be doing NOTHING else and I would still be capping with only 6 days out of the week.
Unless something has been physically keeping me away from the game for the entire week (like a vacation or something), I've never had any issues with capping.

I'm quite the opposite. It took me until around the start of 2.1 just to get WHM (my first job) to 50, so I was quite behind on myth capping and decided not to care since I had so much other stuff to do. CT in particular meant I didn't even have to bother grinding myth to get good enough gear. Eventually, I did start capping occasionally, but mostly because of all the CT runs I was doing. When Sol first came out, I was still afraid of running dungeons even with DF but I had already finished gearing my WHM and didn't go into CT anymore, so I rarely capped it. It wasn't until 2.3 when I got DRG to 50 that I was able to get used to the dungeons and started capping every week on the expert roulette to catch up. Shortly after, I also got PLD to 50 and was getting main gear for three jobs out of ST and using Sol for accessories, and then later as a side effect of getting myth for my Animus books.
Now with Poe out, I've finally gotten up to the Novus quest line for my PLD relic and am pretty much forced to cap Poe as a side effect of getting at least one Alex map every day, although I've already forgotten a few times to get the quest first and had to run the roulette twice on those days. :| But I'm pretty excited to cap Poe these days because it means I've finally caught up, and hopefully I'll be able to keep up.

It sounds immature and seems to take the immersion out when ppl call their characters that. Not too sure about your character but mine doesn't resemble anything akin to The Animaniacs, Looney Toons, The Flintstones, WoW or even wildstar's cartoonish design.. I just don't get it. Am I blowing this out of proportion? Possibly, but it's just a matter of opinion and preference. If you could enlighten me, I'd greatly appreciate it.

My tomes pretty much naturally cap on the 2nd day of the week or so because I actually like doing stuff in the game especially doing like EX runs for mounts.

Unless you're doing 3rd Coil, capping tomes for Poetics is pointless. There is literally no other content that calls for it. Same goes for Relic progression, nothing to do but Coil.
Until newly released content is put into solo queue Duty Finder, there is a high amount of players who won't touch it until it is.

I didn't really care about capping soldiery because daystar crapped look awful, and I was more concerned with starting an RP function. I was very pumped about Mythology since that AF gear looked so cool.
I guess my excitement is related to how cool the gear looks, for poetics I've been capping two characters each week, one healer one tank, because I love the look so much.

The answer is simple, we're tired of the same crap. That's all.

I cap poetics on my main and alt every week.
