Maybe they should link ready check into duty finder. So when you attempt to queue, it wont let you until everyone has clicked in. Would be a smart integration of two systems. And it would eliminate a lot of the tears.

yeah but who says it couldn't happen 3 times in a day. it takes about a minute or so for me to teleport to a new location, and maybe more to teleport to mor dhona, and if I were really unlucky DF could pop 3 times in a day when i was in a loading screen.
Im just saying its unfair but I still think we need something like it to prevent the in progress seekers
It should only penalize the people that didn't click Commence and/or clicked Withdraw, just those exact people. It shouldn't affect anyone else in any other case, especially the people who did click Commence, that's simply all there is to it. It's a bad implementation in that regard that needs to be fixed, otherwise the penalty is perfectly fine and I do get some satisfaction while solo queueing every time someone withdraws, knowing they'll get penalized for it.
It actually was well thought out and wasn't sloppy at all. Just think about it for a moment...
You have someone in your party who continually withdraws, do you still want them in your party? Or are you going to go ahead and progress on without them?
It's not just that, but it stops a loophole in the lockout system which would be a bigger problem. OP obviously didn't think it through before posting.
Better luck next time.
Or maybe a function of the game could you know not bite you in the ass when something out of your hands happens. Say we have a ready check, and then it passes with everyone ready but then someone has a sudden power failure or realizes they forgot something irl and a withdraw is set. Congratulations the ready check changed nothing and the whole party has a strike. And whats more is that a ready check will not stop trolling players from setting a strike on everyone and there is just flat out no reason to hurt the whole party due to one idiot or one accident as that creates distrust and frustration between players. Punishing the innocent does not have a nice ring to it.
Actually if it isn't joint strikes then there a loop hole which can be used to get around the penalty.
If it not joint then a party would have potentially more than two free withdraws before lock out. So if you have two people in a party. One person could get two strikes & then the other could take another two strikes. Meaning that party could potentially withdraw a total of four times before a penalty is issued to either person. So making the feature to stop the massive amounts of withdrawals not very effective at all.
I would say someone didn't think it through and it certainly wasn't Barboron.
