I like very much this patch, though I haven't seen everything.
I like the new dungeons, at least for the moment they are not too difficult nor too easy. I suppose with practice and gearing up they will end being a bit easy, depending on the group. I like the new mechanics, the ambience. Sastasha HM is a beautiful place and Sunken Temple of Qarn HM too. The music is wonderful too. Sense of humour everywhere too as usual, great.
A very smart move are the gear drops that can be exchanged in Mor Dhona for the ilvl90 ones you want. Ilvl90 will be mainly for desynth or glamour, but it's nice that all players can need them and later exchange them if they want to. I am getting the Ninja ones for when I level (the ones not shared by the monk ones I have.) People who want it for glamour will have it much easier, unlike the darklight that after being super easy to have were very difficult if you wanted a full set.
I like how the main story is developing too.
I haven't tried the Ninja, too busy with other things, I am behind in many ways, but looks fun for what I see in Ninjas I play with.
The new poetics gear looks very nice for what I have seen up to now. The progression seems to be as the last one, the gear you can buy with poetics tomes can be upgraded with a Final Coil drop (that probably will be made easier to get later like the Sands of Time, I suppose.)
Not from this patch, but I don't like that for the Nexus lights you have to always play that class, with the Novus you could do dungeons with one class to earn the mysterious maps for alexandrites and use them in another class weapon. I like to use other classes but now I need the nexus lights I feel forced to use the main. And the lights are obtained very slowly, either you grind a lot, or it takes several months. It may be the new relic upgrade will arrive and most people who started to get Nexus lights the first day won't have the Nexus weapon yet.
I haven't seen Final Coil so I can't say anything about it, I suppose it's well done as usual.
Great move putting the penalty for withdrawing three times in a day. You can lose a queue while doing other things, maybe other if you are unlucky, three are too many and the penalty is not that big, just big enough to discourage fishing in progress.
About crafting, I am well behind there, the grinds are huge. Huge grind for ilvl70 weapons (old content, I know), huge grind for desynth, and now it seems a big one too for the tokens for the new master books. As I see it, crafting is a bit a world apart. Except housing and materia for Novus weapons, earning a lot of gil is not so needed. Mostly the gil is spent in leveling the crafters, buying gear and melds for the crafters, so that they earn money to spend in themselves, to be able to earn more money to spend in themselves. (Exception, the top notch players who need to have the best gear ASAP so get crafted items and multi meld them etc., a small minority. Maybe they have super crafter friends that can craft for them, or craft themselves, you see very few top crafted gear sold on the market board.) I like the crafter gear is multi class, less melds to do and less armoury chest space.
All in all I like it very much. Congratulations to the developers!
Yeah, good points there!
I'll also add another thing I like and noticed recently when doing some hunts. (As I said, I dislike being forced to do hunt too much, now it is just an alternative I do sometimes while waiting for queues or so, now it is funny and not necessary, how it should have been since 2.3)
So... I like...
- The permanent flag: Because it was weird time ago when you marked something in map for get into there and after you reopened the map again it wasn't there... Now life is easier! When I click to seeing a hunt and teleport to the map, I can always see where the hunt position is so I don't have to become mad with coords while inviting people... Also it is useful for marking map locations and other stuff I want. Best QoL addition in my opinion!
