How about not being able to need on items of a lower level than equipped? Although we'd probably see people running ST in dark light gear just to get them. Look at it this way, you can do exactly the same as that Bard so it's technically fair.

I'm confused, did they get rid of the one piece of gear per week with the new patch. How do you get multiple pieces in one run?
In ST, and second coil of Bahamut, they lift all all the limitation. You can now run as many times as you like, loot as many loots as able. And they are experiencing the new loot system in regular Duns by giving you Antique pieces (be it head,body,leg,etc...), you can then use them to trade for what you want, as the same type, from the Npc, who you will get agumentated gears from, for AF2 gears. So far I love it. I will take 1/5 chance to get what I want than 1/X where X is the total number of loots drop from a turn.
Gasp! Bards getting bard gears, alert the authorities.
If you want a certain piece of gear, go that job.
If you want sand/oil/etc, roll higher.
This right here, 100%. It'd still impose a grind, but grinds can be good, until they become bad. But this post right here is a perfect solution. RNGatan has set up residence in ST lately, been seeing players who intentionally get locked out of Amon and Xande win sands and oil, players who spend more time eating dirt than hitting mobs win sands and oils, and UATs. Plural form, not just won. Players who burst their butts end up with rolls 13 and below. Seen it multiple, multiple runs.
And to top it off RNG really hates some people... been running a lot of ST as tank and only had one piece of tank gear drop.
