RNG will always be RNG, so just because you get your Atma drops outside of these time periods doesn't mean that they're necessarily wrong. I was skeptical about the Atma theory at first too, but since then SE has released S-rank hunts with rather unique and obscure ways of spawning them. I wouldn't be surprised if there was some bit of truth to the Atma theory considering that history. Unfortunately it won't guarantee drops either, and this game's RNG seems to be particularly cruel at times (Failing a 94% chance to meld 6 times, failing to get a HQ item with over 90% quality consistently, and the chance of getting A High Wind in Ishgard for your Ixal Dailies).

The time theory is a delusional combination of placebo and confirmation bias. Atma drops are nothing but pure RNG farming. Nothing more, nothing less.

yes it is pure RNG, but RNG means, everyone has his own random rate at a specific moment. Doesn't mean a random rate for everyone at anytime. You should know that, it is adjustable in the system^^;

But you are only arguing against a point that noone is arguing. I havent seen anyone supporting the "clock theory" say that atma will only drop during these times, or even that you are guaranteed a drop at these times. The only arguments I've seen are that drop rates seemed to be increased during these specific times. Just because a drop rate is increased does not mean it's no longer RNG.

That is exactly what the theory is, take a look at the link in the OP. They only drop in xx zone at xx time clearly is not true.

when you go to that link, the first thing you are looking at is not exactly the theory itself... thats just a comment on the theory that happens to list the times so it was upvoted to #1. The person making that comment even says they have never even tried it themselves, they are just relaying the information on the times/zone. Reading down through the rest of the comments shows that a vast majority of people who do support the theory, dont think that they only drop during those hours.

Pure RNG for sure. My first set took me around 1950 fates. Now I'm at 9/265 on my second.

And yes the atma rate is being increased and read somewheres (don't quote me i forget what thread) that it will be 2x, so currently @ 1%, so now 2%
