Any type of extension to the game, outside of the expansion. Any type of sidequests, minigames, or area/dungeon/raid access, or any extensions to ingame content such as chocobo raising/breeding/dying, gardening, housing, or increased stats or abilities to any class or job in any way. I'm sure there could be more possibilities than what I've listed here, but I don't want to see them being sold in a cash shop.
Any more than a handful of glamor outfits and accessories, and no more than a handful of hairstyles, face paint/facial features, and body alterations like tattoos. Maybe like a percentage of 25% cash shop vs. 75% in-game, or 15%/85% or something like that. I don't want to ever feel like the vast majority of the good stuff in this game is cash shop only, and there should be a balance between cash shop only glamors and in-game attainable glamors so that players that don't want to use or don't have access to the shop aren't left with a bare minimum of basic glamor to choose from while cash shop fiends get to pimp themselves out every which way they can dream up. (I actually don't mind the seasonal event gear being available in the cash shop though, but I'd prefer it to be during off-season, but still offer last year's rewards for the current seasonal events in-game through an event vendor npc for a small amount of gil. You'd just still be able to obtain the halloween event gear in, say, February through the cash shop without having to wait for the event to come back around.)
Any items from non-seasonal/promotional events or legacy items. I actually wouldn't mind the limited time event items from 2.0 and onward being sold for a short amount of time after the event ends, in case players weren't able to complete the event in-game for some reason or other, but not being sold permanently. And I don't think anything from 1.x special events, quests or achievement rewards should be sold at all.
Any more than a few minions or mounts. Same reasoning as with glamors. I don't want there to end up being about 3 or 4 new minions to be obtained in game this year, and about 30 new on the cash shop. That could be a bit of an exaggeration, but there should be enough of a balance between in game and cash shop only that players who don't want to spend money outside of their sub still have numerous options and enough of a reason to continue playing the game.
And of course, any gameplay-altering things like gear with endgame raid-ready stats on them, any type of foods or potions that give special benefits or abilities (outside of fantasia, of course), housing, and I don't believe that gil or in-game sellable items should be sold on the shop either. The ability to sell game time on the market boards might be a nice thing to have, though.
Anything that will only ever be available through the cash shop. So long as you give me an alternative method to get it, I don't care what you throw in there.
