The option should be there to either do a harder version of these 2 (the originally planned dev version of CT), or do it with 8 people.

Lahabrea. Seriously. We joke so much about him when it's time to fight him, but what if we fought him and he really gave us an ass whooping?
its totally doable, not even a question. MOST people just don't want to "put up with" randoms.
My FC regularly could fill a 24 man alliance. If its something your into, put it in the PF. Don't lock players out from it, just let us band together with people on our server for something hard aside from coil.
There really is no middle ground in this game. Its either face roll easy, or hours of practice hard. The grey area in between is where a lot of players would like to dedicate their play time. extreme modes of dungeons and other raids are exactly where that middle ground is. And as a reward, make them dailies for allied seals.
I assume you're not doing your Nexus. When i did mine we got it on bright for 6hours straight. This fight is boring as hell and too easy. We tried every little things in order to speed it up as much as we could. We even got to the point where we found a way to skip the "everyone turns into frogs + midgets" phase by keeping a ranged DPS with the confused debuff up the entire time.
Anyway, what i mean is, yeah. This fight need a hard and extreme version with challenging mechanics and valuable drops.
Atm Theres no reason to do the current Gilga more than once, other than for the reason i said above.
Ultima EX, Siren HM/EX, Diabolos HM/EX, Gaius HM/EX. CT/ST HM would be fun, too.
Pity its a 50/50 Decision of +/- about this new Mode Idea :S
One part of me would love to have it, the other part, knowing how hard it is to find 8 players on equal levels already is afraid of such an option. :D
I think what we really need is more challenging Light Party dungeons, with the gear actually being worthwhile and maybe useful for Second or even Final Coil. If they drop i90 gear, then I will be severely disappointed with SE. People have been geared in i90 (heck, i100+ at this point) stuff since 2.2. Which made the 2.3 dungeons redundant on release (people only ran them for Tomes or vanity/GC seals. No one needed i80 gear, especially when the Hunts made it super easy to get Tomes and i110 unweathered gear).
