little more. Which means that considering that games aren't normally announced less than six months before release, if announced at TGS, the PS3 version would come more than 7 months from now, which is entirely realistic, despite what trolls would hope.
Put 1.19 behind? 1.18a is simple balancing, why would it "put 1.19 behind"? you seem to think that there's only one team at work on the game.
It would probably be reasonable to think there would at least be a testing phase for the PS3 version available for download sometime this year and then be available for release sometime early next year.
I really do not want to see a repeat of the PC version's launch, considering the console version will most likely be the game's last chance at making any sort of large returns.
While a PS3 beta is very likely, I seriously doubt it'll be long. What needs to be tested on PS3 is only the performance of the engine and the interaction with the PSN, all the content, balancing, leveling progression and so forth is being tested by us on PC already.
more or less the game might not be able to release within this year, we dont even know what ll come after patch 1.19, so the best bet I can guess is spring 2012 or after summer 2012 as well -.-
to stay with the original time frame 1.19 would have to go live in the next 20 days, beings that 1.18a has not even been given a date yet i am "assuming" it wont be in the next couple days. so lets just say that 1.18a gos live one week from today "assuming" there is no 1.18b that would give the around 12-13 days to launch 1.19 to stay on schedule.
Like i said, only time will tell.
also: action bar update and weapon toggle is planned for 1.18a, not just balancing.
As I've mentioned elsewhere, the PS3 version, by being for the PS3, will have to be able to handle all resolutions that the PS3 can put out, down to and including SDTV/EDTV. Meanwhile, not only are we unable to play the game at resolutions that low on the PC, but the default widget locations at the lowest setting, 1024 x 768 (a 4:3 setting), actually cause overlap with NPC dialog.
Don't forget that the only cables packed with a PS3 are composite.
If FFXIV is getting near a PS3 release, they're showing a funny way of getting it ready.
I remember applying for the PS3 FF XIV beta when i got FF XIII. I wonder if that is still valid and if they still plan on doing a beta.
