I'm always skeptical about SE, but on this I do believe them, when they started talking about this in 2.0 they were still talking about a concept, nothing concrete, but recently they started giving a lot more details about what will be in it and showing they have most of it already planned, quite obvious they have been working on it.

Unlike personal housing which was never mentioned after that 9 months old quote, just to in the end re-use FC housing, they obviously weren't working on it at all.

Chocobo racing: will it be actual racing or yet another menu activity like all the other additions to companions?

After seeing how raising and housing panned out, I'll wait for further info before getting excited about it.

There's really no need to set your expectations low for Gold Saucer. Housing was a problem and a fault in and of itself and it will have nothing to do with how well Gold Saucer will turn out. It's essentially going to be a gigantic in game casino and a mountain of fun for anyone who enjoyed minigames from previous Final Fantasy titles.

I need this in my life already!
