RMT? We need to get serious.

Multi-boxing may not be a RMT exclusive action, but it is still highly unfair to other players. Just by running leves that player is multiplying the gil rewards. If he is using automation software to do crafting or gathering he is once again, multiplying the feasible income.

Multi-boxers may not be trying to sell gil, but they will still be a negative impact on the community because of how easily they will acquire materials and cash with only a fraction of the effort.

Besides which, allowing them to do this and use the 3rd party apps needed to help them play the game with 7 other accounts just gives RMT more leeway to the same and claim "I'm not RMT, I'm multiboxing so you can't ban me".

Multi-boxing should not be allowed in a game like FFXIV.

Apparently OJ and RMT's have something in common.

It should also be very important that we as players are watching for those keyboard mashed names running in herds or sitting off in the corner crafting for days and report them.

Too often I see people in my LS or walking around who just say "someone else will do it, I'm busy"

nothing to add, totally agree. I dont see how anyone cannot fully support the basis of the OPs argument.

I thought I saw a change in text recently - "All party members obtain a ___ shard" changed to "all party members who participated in combat obtain a ___ shard".

Can someone else try to confirm this? If so, it would be a multi-boxing counter-measure.

The sad truth is I know players that might as well be RMT. They're mostly harmless... and need a life and a job... but where do you draw the line?

SE won't do too much yet, they're working more on making the game than making sure the players are totally happy. It sounds terrible but until the ps3 version we should assume that not much will happen to prevent RMT.

Eh yes and no. We see a lot of minor changes to the game. Catapult brought up one example with the change in crystal drops. I'm pretty sure that was to counter people making bunches of alt accounts, grouping them up in a camp and then just killing things nearby to farm TONS of crystals.

So we haven't seen much in the way of major anti RMT changes. But frankly I believe they'll need to do more than just hard changes, its just too easy for them to figure out some new sneaky trick. What they need is to be more proactive and start implementing ways to track them instead of just making visible counters. The AH with a way to track market prices was one. If a massive change in price and seller happens its likely you got someone with a bunch of bot provided stock manipulating the market with a huge influx of goods.

It'd be way harder to track this though with no sell history and considering how loosely tied together the wards and retainer system is.

What I don't understand is why can't people enjoy the ****ing game for what it is?
Do people not work for anything anymore, and just cheat their way up?

I reported two people that were pretty much stealing all of the dodos as soon as they spawned. They sat there, never responded to anything I said, and never used TP skill moves. Did I mention they stole all mobs as soon as they aggroed?

SE didn't do anything about them. They were in that exact same spot 5 days later... spawn killing all my precious dodos.

If we're going after RMT can we go after the players using bots to get their crafts to 50? It's not only RMT using bots you know.
