I think he means toggle last names on/off. so anyone wanting to see last names can, but those who wish to not see last names don't need to. I'm happy with that as an idea.

Why not just have the option to toggle last names, toggle your own name (I know who I am, I dont need my name there) and a size toggle, so if you want to see the last name but think names clutter the screen (I do) you can resize names to make them smaller.
Having toggle options will make everyone happy, those who like it the way it is will stay happy and those who want the options toggled will be happy, everyone wins! -

I am indifferent to this particular situation really but as someone pointed out, you can toggle names on and off.
Considering we already have the above feature in place, it wouldn't harm the game in any form to have a toggle for last names. -

And I wonder how would it take place, because there are so many players here that you just can't remove surnames. Technically talking, you'll have database exceptions all over it. -
