Wont they be several iLvs behind? You get to 50 and you're barely i55; most people wont even let you do Titan (Hard) in that, let alone whatever new content an expansion has.

Hunts let you get to near i90 in one round of A ranks. Someone in my fc did that and bought all the myth gear with the hunt seals. Yesterday I got into a titan HM trial (iirc only need i57) where the pld has full i90 myth gear save for the 1 ring...and a cobalt samshir and some lvl 40 shield. He said he has never done the fight before (there was indeed a myth bonus) but the party let him main tank it. I was about to point it out but they already pulled. Needless to say, we had to do a 2nd attempt. I'm not joking.
I don't know how the expansion ilvl structure is going to be like, but if there's a 'standard' starting ilvl for the new lvl cap (right now our light dungeons goes up to i80 and will probably end at i100 at 2.5, the supposed last patch before expansion), I would not be surprised if they start handing out i100+ gear as you level up with quest rewards so that new players starting from expansion will be able to jump in into the expansion content straight away with 'friends'. All the gear that we have so far will be nothing but glamour novelties, and so will be the content that drops these gears (see: levi ex).
Old And Busted Raid Roulette. Please look forward to it.
It is worrying, any new player coming to the game, will have lab and tower to get through, then when the next part is added, it will be nigh on impossible for any new player to progress to it, because let's face it, very few will run lab when a third raid is added, and the ST gear will be ignored this making that ignored too, so players coming to the game will be stuck not being able to progress
Last night I queued on an alt that actually needs lab to continue, was in queue for 2hrs before giving up.
You know, I'm sure they'll eventually make it so you can desynth gear from CT/ST/Coil/2ndCoil/etc. to get a unique type of Demimateria used to craft glowing variations of their respective gear.
