Wow Fern, great lore post :) Hope to read these lore fragments more often! (or put all of these info in game in some books/ancient-writings/NPCs around Eorea, you know :P)
Btw, that Void could be a hint about future expansion areas eheh.

Hello again, voidsent fellas!
I bring this thread up again, remembering good ol' Ferne's explanation and that the void beyond Eorzea was officially lowercased.
Tonight, I spoke with the Wandering Minstrel in the Red Rooster Stead in Eastern La Noscea. He surely had a lot to tell, but, as much as I'd like to question you with a big torch pointed in your eye about the Gardens of Xarakish or the floating (!) lakes of Voor Sian Siran (my way to say that, despite there wasn't a real quest to obtain the Goobbue Horn, I appreciated these lore tidbits on those mysterious, new areas :) ), I read him talk about the “Void”, too... and uppercased again.
The dialogue at the end of the dialogue, when he speak about looking at the night sky and looking at a world “not quite our own” (hmm, Dalamud...?) is:
“Is this the Void or is it something else?”
Is this due to the minstrel's long travels, that maybe made him forgot the lowercased “v” while he took a bath in one of those floating lakes, or is there another reason why it's uppercased?
Now that I think about it, recently I must have read void lowercased, and I got confused because it wasn't referring to the realm of the voidsents (I can't remember where I read it, though...), so for this reason an uppercased version might be better to distinguish it when characters refer to void with an emptiness meaning.
Just a suggestion! As long as the place is being mentioned every now and then, it's fine for me. :D
The Void is a recurring theme in the series. And according to Dissidia, and Gilgamesh using it to travel between games, it apparently connects the different FF worlds. Cloud of Darkness wanted to return the universe to the Void, Exdeath wanted to control its power, Necron talked about a 'zero world', and you can see a fragment of the Void sealed away in the Gordeus if you go to the temple in Aht Urhgan in FFXI.
It would be rather engaging if the Void were to spill into Eorzea.
As far as the Void spilling into Eorzea... what do you think the voidsent are?
