Here's an idea; how about Ronso as a playable Race?

The galkas in this game are pretty similar to ronso. The big brute type character.

Me playing a Ronso would be exactly how I played FFX.

"Oh god they should've warned me of this solo fight with him he is so not ready for this"

Maybe if SE remove the horn, the fur and give them another name?

Hah, totally forgot they even had horns! Yeah, I'm not particularly attached to that feature, so they could definitely remove that. Renaming them would definitely make sense, although why remove their fur, just curious?

Honestly, I just want a "tough-looking" race, because I feel like FFXIV doesn't really have one. Sure, Roegadyn(s) are big, but they don't seem particularly intimidating. I want something large and muscular, but also lean. Ronso just happen to tick a lot of the boxes I'm looking for in a new race, but far be it from me to suggest they limit themselves *purely* to FFX's Ronso. I like the general vibe of their race (save for the shoulder and nipple hair, I suppose), but I'd also be happy with them changing things up, too.

Like I said, I just don't want another "pretty, human-looking" race. Or a "cutesy" race, either (unless it was Moogles, in which case, bring on the Moogle overlords!).

Ronso are pretty much the main race I'd rather not see. I could take almost anything else.

I don't think you're going to get a Ronso rip-off unfortunately.

The new lizard type race should be interesting though I would think, so long as they carefully straddle the line between man and beastman.
Too human like and their worry about being rejected will be implausible, to beastlike and them fitting in with the main five so easily will seem silly.

nah... XIV has its own lore and it's unnecessary to ruin it.

playable Padjal will be good though.

I'd love to play as a Padjal, however lore just won't allow it. They are far too rare to actually be a playable race.

Yoshi touched on the fact that they were leaning towards a dragonkin styled race rather than a more animalistic race (bear/lion/wof ronso type)

If that's just a lizard-y version of a miqo'te I'm gonna lose it in a bad way...

Although demi beastmen were the most voted for (and Yoshi P feels the results might have been skewed by citing viera as an example) I recall reading that Yoshi would prefer a full out beast race. Can't find the source on that though.

Either way, I hope the first new playable race to be added isn't just Hyur in ear/tail glamour. It barely adds any variety.
