An option to have chat bubbles would be nice.
Obviously it's not on everyone's menu, but it would still be nice. After all, it's already in-game (See quest NPC's and random world NPC's).

Why this nerd rage is only 2 pages long???
They actually should reduce some of the NPC chat bubbles during FATEs and such. The FATE in East Thanalan by the Highbridge, I'd need to take a screen shot to read all those chat bubbles. Also, allow us to turn off or move the chat bubbles that pop up right in the middle of our screen during Primal Fights/Dungeons/FATEs (This text is already in my chat log, I don't need it obscuring my view of the battlefield.)
How do ugly, invasive, and screen-filling chat bubbles at all help with immersion in any way, shape, or forum, as opposed to a discrete chatbox in the corner of your screen that can take up as much or as little of it that you want.
Chat bubbles are literally the opposite if any type of immersion whatsoever.
Chat bubbles ruin immersion. This is a game, not a comic book.
I like that suggestion. It's pretty nice when you are travelling around the world and find two players sitting close to a road talking about gathering, hunts, etc. Just being able to chat to someone while looking at their character, not a lifeless chatlog, would add a lot of immersion. Sadly this forum is pretty negative, even more if the subject in question is immersion. All of the problems pointed out on the replies to this thread were fixed a long time ago on most MMOs.
The hive mind is real.
I don't see anything wrong with a chat bubble option.
Yeah, hence the reason I stopped replying to other post here. Apparently the part to make it a option went over everyones heads. Not gonna keep repeating myself. I know theres an audience that enjoys chat bubbles in this game, I've met them in-game and read past post where people made alot of positive cases to add them. For those that enjoy them and don't see them as clutter, it would add some spice to our experience of the game. For those that find it utterly repulsive, they can disable it. Both groups can be happy. Oh well, this crop of forum warriors are not interested in more options or resources spent to make the game alittle more interesting for some of their audience.
It's all good, not the end of the world.
Not really. I've used chat bubbles in RP in other games to put dialogue to a face. Its sometimes a little difficult to look at names over everyone's heads and matching them. Chat bubbles make that easier. Now.. to play devil's advocate here.. that's about all I've ever used chat bubbles for.
