After reading this, I'm totally getting a set of tank accessories to use. I played last night as white mage, and the other healer in the group probably had close to 800 HP more than me because of tank accessories.

beyond using tank accessories, which is a good idea, try using those with crit/det.
SCH, imo, is an easier entry into PVP since you have a built-in back up with your fairy.
at rank 40 i have MND filled instead of VIT for PVP skills. the extra 12 MND is better than 12 VIT
if you have all right side tank gear.
also, i have my points spread across all actions. my rule of thumb is 4 points is not worth
putting into a spot for a skill that only reduces recast by 30 seconds.
for example, the SCH knockback skill. its great and has 3 spots;
extra knockback, increased potency, and reduced recast. i choose extra knockback since that is the main reason
for me to use that skilll, ie. knocking people off a ledge. the extra potency is meh and the 30 seconds just
doesnt come off as appealing.
I did a frontline last night, and I never died :) thanks for all your great help everyone.
My next question is: is there a secret to targeting my allies? I'd just use the unit frames but there's no range indicator of who's close enough to heal.
we have already made the request for SE to add a range checker to party and alliance frames to gray out members who are outside of 30y. we can only hope they add it. until then get used to wasting precious lustrates and other heals on people who are either just outside the 30y or aren't even there. at this point, to avoid that from happening if you don't see the person visually around, you will have to manually click them and see if you get their target arrow on their heads. personally what i do is turn on party and alliance nameplates and hp bars so i know who is around me and use mouseover macros but still i occasionally waste a spell.
