They're doing data center maintenance. e.g. networking stuff.

I'm sure the patch work is already done.

That's not necessarily true. Might still be able to crossbreed them but on top of that, they may crossbreed with other seeds for useless stuff. Not necessarily for snacks but for more glazenuts, feed etc. because people are still finding new crosses that aren't listed on wlel known gardening spreadsheet.

To my understanding, maintenance causes all A and S rank mobs to despawn and their respawn timer starts ticking again only when the server comes back up.
