If you go in with a premade with people that have the same mindset, then there really isn't any difference. Both ways can be done just as efficiently.


The problem is your asking a rhetorical question that there really isn't a correct answer to. In your OP you ask:

In my opinion, the answer is no. People should play how they want to play. What's wrong, is going into a duty finder match and expecting people to kill all the mobs, especially if the majority wants to skip. (not saying you do that)

This, please. I ran a roulette once where the healer was spirit binding every single slot. It was terrible and he could barely keep up. If you want to spiritbond, make a party finder and do that crap with other people who want to spiritbond.

Point duly noted. Ilvl 110 gear only unless at watersprites, no matter how easy the content.

If you're binding job appropriate gear I don't see a problem. Ex: Bards binding Spinel (Dex) sets. I bound full accessory sets while doing my daily roulette's and never once had to buy materia for my Novus. You're not hurting the party any more than a fresh 50 would. Heck, I'm still il80+ while binding full spinel sets. People just like to complain about anything.

Well, to be fair, a new player can just join hunts to get the gear they need for CM, minus the weapon.

Spritibind dungeon party won't have a problem with killing everything in a dungeon. Also, if you can get together an 8-man for CM/Prae, you can also go into Coil T3 where there are no bosses to get in your way, and you can run past the golems so you don't get slaughtered by Obliterate.

It's not a big deal. If I see someone spirit bonding accessories, I don't mind enough to say anything. I didn't even say anything to the guy spiritbonding every slot until we wiped because he couldn't keep up with heals. It's just a matter of this:

You're making me work harder or longer for your personal gain. I don't get any profit sharing, so why should I put forth more effort so that you can do something unrelated to the current content we're doing. That's why if you want to spiritbond, you should do it in your own premade group. Like I said, I generally won't say anything unless you're really bringing the group down, but it is still annoying.

i dont disagree with SBing in dungeons, as long as you arent stupid about it. if youre running a lv 47(aurum vale) or lower dungeon, your il55 SB gear wont be met with hostility. if you are stupid, like the tank i ran ST with yesterday, and have il55 chest, head, legs, and feet, in ST, as a tank, the i will have problems with that. i let the alliance know, i let the party know. i figured it out because he died against scylla. while scylla is sometimes taxing on my mp, i have only ever been overpowered to the point that someone died my first time. so i checked his gear. we had him kicked before the next boss.

edit: all of his accessories were il100+, but in a place like that, SBing is unacceptable the way it was done.

Actually, that's still being stupid about it. On those level 47 monsters they'll hardly get any SB on ilvl 55 gear. They'd be better of doing it solo.

that is true, speaking from the standpoint of doing dungeons with randoms. if someone wants to do high level dungeons for SB, find a group that wants the same thing. dont SB in a dungeon with irrelevent gear sets that will make you a liability unless everyone knows and agrees beforehand.
