Ugh...why does atma hate me? And why does it suck?

I devoted 5 hours a day for a month and 2 weeks I have a total of 3 atma , RNG blows for me I've been know to fail completely at mining at 90% or higher known to roll 1's repeatedly for loot RNG really sucks for me, so when I see the majority of players getting it in a few days and the only true thing slowing them down is the books , I quit doing them all together because for that time frame and only getting 3 I felt as if it was a impossible task for me to achieve. Also I've seen them get the alaxandrite very fast too , so why such a wall with Atma's? I cannot understand how you would rely on RNG for such a task, I could see the later steps to get to the higher level relics taking much longer then this , So again I pose the question why did you rely on RNG for Atma's and yet the later tasks to upgrade so easy? , because myth is easy to farm there is no weekly cap and having friends to clear a instance is even easier.

This strategy has worked very well for me, in fact, I think there is more to the RNG then meets the eye.... Maybe I was just lucky, but I went a few weeks before I had even 3. Switching to this strategy resulted in the last nine of very, very casual player across 2 weeks.

1. Make a list of all your remaining zones
2. Do no more than 5-7 fates per zone
3. Move onto the next zone
4. Never repeat a zone until you've worked your way through your list
5. Once you get an atma, reset your list
6. Repeat steps 1-5

Note, I never ended up repeating a zone during each run until I was down to my last 2 zones. In that case, I ended up repeating Central and Western Than a few times. I had gotten 3 of my last 5 over the course of 4hrs and tried to get those last 2. I ended up going back and forth between the 2 zones many times before giving up altogether. I took a week off atma hunting. The very next week, I had my last two atma within 9 fates total.

Got my Atma Weapon a few days ago, and it was incredibly painful. 10/10 will never do again. It's nothing but frustration and boredom. I think the only thing I got out of it was I now know my way around Eorzea a bit better.

If that make you feel better then I still sometimes farm fates for seals with Zenith equipped and Atmas drop in +/- half an hour. All you need to do is switch to another Zenith or region if nothing drops soon.

South Than and East Shroud are great zones for the suggestion I have that worked for me - camp out at a FATE that spawns regularly - in East Shroud, I used that one with the boar deep in the Sylphlands (super easy to solo) and in South Than, the one for CT unlock in the Amal'jaa camp - they spawn super quick and I get one within 5 tries each time.

Or you could get a UAT weapon, say to hell with ATMA, and sell off some of your accumulated red lvl II materia at insanely high prices.
