What he means is that it currently take more than two weeks to get a kill due to the Hunt mobs getting zerged down so you cannot complete it on a weekly basis.

the real reason the server is down is to lower server stress when reset happens.

Square this is a joke.

There were hopeful players out there thinking that this update might actually help to fix the issues plaguing not just Hunts, but the whole game as a result of this content.

Do you even see the biggest issue? You have yet to address the reward aspect of the hunt which is hurting all other content in the game by making it completely irrelevant. Rewards need to be addressed 3 weeks ago, not ignored and have players concerns about it answered with silence.

This has to be a joke....surely? Of all the things fundamentally wrong with the hunt system as a whole.....they plan maintenance for this?! Are they real?!

Is anyone hoping for a ninja nerf? Or is it unlikely?

No.. no it doesn't.. only for people who don't know how to hunt. me and everyone I hunt with kill the weekly mark (with full credit) dozens of times before the week is even up. Just because you can't do something doesn't necessarily mean that it's broken... just means you lack the required skill.
