I use the controller plus Horizontal Bars and play a hybrid style. I have no issues at all keeping every job to 2 cross bars...the only one I use three on is Scholar and that is because a I have an Eos Bar (healing) Selene Bar (Healing) and then a "DPS" cross hot bar for dps'ing. I cannot imagine people playing on the PC...seems like it would be so much harder.
I'd say the hardest thing about using the controller is targeting the right enemy in a cluster like Thornarch Ex. Healing as WHM is no problem with minor practise, and targeting party member is easy since up/down actually highlight in order.
I tried KB and mouse on PS4 but didn't like the noticeable input lag, and didn't know how to turn off the big window that describes the ability you're highlighting off so I just switched back. I'll try again on PC soon knowing I can at least use a controller if I still hate it.
