Frontlines is still new so a lot of people are inexperienced, even if they want to learn. I am often explaining the mechanics of why you should be fighting on the flag and why fighting on the road is a waste of time to newer players. Many are happy and willing to learn. Others don't listen to (or outright ignore) every single piece of advice they are given. And then there are the people who insult the entire alliance nonstop, EVEN if we're winning by a large margin... Trolls don't help either, but as far as a PvP community is concerned... FFXIV is one of the tamer ones I have seen.
This game is NOT balanced for 1v1 PvP. Most of my 1v1 kills were due to the fact that I had cooldowns up. Most of my 1v1 deaths were due to the fact that my opponent had cooldowns up. It's so rare that you encounter 1v1 that I haven't had ample time to test it. As far as healers being difficult to kill, they SHOULD be hard to kill. In a group setting, you can destroy a healer if your team coordinates... and that's kind of the point. If the healer was easy to kill 1v1, they would be next to useless in group content... and already, any healer will tell you that staying alive requires both skill AND help from your team. I sometimes play PvP WHM and it's definitely not a cakewalk versus a group. I'm told SCH PvP is slightly easier due to the fairy and the lustrates, but not by much if you are getting focused hard. If I had one job to complain about... it's bards. Without equanimity, I won't survive... and even if I do pop equanimity, I lose precious seconds from the inevitable silence that follows. Plus, bards can kite around things and LoS me pretty easily. Super frustrating 1v1, but like I just said... this game isn't balanced for 1v1 and I doubt it ever will be.
