I was doing frontlines on BRD last night and it was so much fun, we go to take the temple, and see most of the Maelstrom there, hunting players down, kiting that Warrior so he couldn't hit me ahh the good times.

I find it enjoyable as blm. That said, you can't play as a one man army. You will get wrecked.
I'll run with a buddy or with someobe else to back me up, but I see it this way:
Plds and mnk are walking stunners. Their goal is to stop everyone casting.
Scholars are just evil :p
Brd is run and gun
Blm is sudden flare of doom
But eh, im having fun but that's relative to me. Each their own.
Speak for yourself lol I love Frontlines :D There are so many ways to outsmart your opponents to get the win all while trying to defend your turf. It's fun.
This is embarrassing :S
IMO, Wolves Den is no fun, but Frontlines is because there's lots more going on. Are you talking about Wolves Den specifically?
I didn't play WoW but I pissed myself laughing at this.

Back to the topic, I find Frontlines really fun. I mainly play on DRG, if no one is on tank I go WAR. Healer I avoid because I am a garbage healer.
I don't like the "control the middle, control the game" mechanic though. The neutrals have too large an impact currently, in my opinion.
If your B team doesn't pull their weight, then the round is lost.
no I am talking about pvp in general in ff, frontlines and wolfsden. I played many MMO's and I think to compare FFXIV with other MMO's like WoW or Tera or Guildwars is legit. And for such a great game it lacks hard in terms of PvP, thats just a fact you cant denie.
I mean its my own opinion. If you enjoying PvP thats good, but I am not happy with it. There are too many things missing.
1. No Open PvP
2. No option to duel with other players
3. Latency is a big issue
4. Waitingtimes and stupid autoqueue when someone doenst accept the invite (last hotfix fixed it somewhat)
5. No Balance (as a Paladin you deal 0 dmg for example)
6. Autobalance on Itemlevel is the stupiest thing I ever heard. And its Copy&Pasta from Wildstar
I find frontlines to be tons of fun. I actually prefer to heal as WHM. Besides the healing there's lots of utility with repose, Holy's aoe stun and stone's heavy. Hilarious Fluid Aura punting action.
It sounds, mostly, like you're just unhappy with the paladin's role.
Paladins don't deal much damage. But they have a GCD stun, a silence and they can soak up damage like crazy. Sic them on the enemy healers and you create a ton of interrupted casts. You wouldn't want a party of them but one is useful.
If you want to really lay the hurt on people you need to get a DPS class. Though, similar to Marauder, going as Gladiator and pulling a bunch of cross-class DPS boosting skills could help you deal a good bit of burst damage.
If you want a ton of people to participate on a fairly level field, the only thing you can do is ilevel sync. If you tier it like the Den you'd have far worse queue issues.
1) open world PvP is a bad idea. PvP servers just become lop-sided and gankfests. There's no factions so it would have to be a free for all and that's just a disaster.
2) that would be fine I guess.
3) it's always an issue in PvP no matter the game.
4) as above.
5) That's always an issue too and I hate when PvP changes PvE in the name of balance. At least they do have spate rules for both PvE and PvP.
6) No, it's not. PvP should be about skill not how over geared you are. If that's why you do PvP, to win not because of skill but gear difference then you're a ganker and not a PvPer. Wildstar didn't invent that and it's paste not pasta.
I agree that duelling would be nice.
Open PvP will most likely never come, since it doesn't fit into the lore. Besides I wouldn't like the thought that some jerks nuke me while I am mining mats (low hp, 0 combat skills)
