Situations like this are why I'd give a lot for the option to switch between the localized script and a more literal one...Not that I don't enjoy the localization, but there have been quite a few sections where I've been REALLY curious what the original script said (For instance, that one NPC in Highbridge who quotes Alice in Wonderland), especially since I know enough spoken Japanese to pick up the differences during voiced scenes, but can't read well enough to make switching the text language a practical option.
I'd even be willing to pay for the option.
Wow, it's nice to see someone else got that vibe; I thought I just had my yaoi goggles on a bit too tight. He was very circumspect about it, at least in English, but it felt like Haurchefant had more personal reasons for working (me) so hard to save Francel than not wanting to see an honest man executed. Especially with that dashing chocoboback entrance he made at the end.
I wonder what the Holy See thinks about same-sex relationships...
