What does Pld do in Frontline ?

No it wasn't... you can still stunlock, and you still get 3 stuns with no cd, the cc time is lower but other classes got that nerfed way harder.

Ya they had that lockdown forever going for them that made them good but its less effective now. idk tho I've been playing pld some in frontlines and it doesn't feel too bad.

PLD should be on ranged imo in Frontline, your ranged on their healers so you force their healers to decide between healing themselves or their dps. I wouldn't blow stuns on healers until you see equanimity that way they waste their cooldown. PLD should be reapplying stoneskin during lulls in combat as well instead of just sitting there and wanking with their oaths.

Personally I feel war (and brd's flanking) is better suited for assaulting the backline while PLD is better positioned protecting your healers from said war's an brds.

I think BLM makes the better healer guard because between Heavy, Bind, Sleep, Virus, Eye for an Eye, Lethargy, BLM has far more options compared to PLD's gimped stun and Cover. With how many SMNs and BLMs running free due to lack of focus in mass encounters Cover won't stop that magic damage from killing off your healers. MRD/WARs are probably better than PLDs though for rushing backlines though because they can get in, berserk, burst someone really fast and get one and BRD is pretty hilarious for healer harassment. I was in voip with a bard friend of mine and we would buff to max for barrage and focus a healer at the same time and it's crazy how fast they burn. I'm sure they had no clue what was hitting them because BRD animations are so ignorable.

Ya I agree with you a lot, blm and whm too are superior peel. PLD has a harder time getting on targets than WAR/MRD it's def do-able tho. I still play midline on PLD tho because cover is just invaluable on a focused target. its super good and on a low CD.

PLDs also make effective Harriers/Scouts with proper use of Tempered Will and Defensive CDs.

Several matches I took an undefended or poorly defended GC outpost while most of that GC were off battling at an Allagan control points.
