OP, I wouldn't let that ruin it for you. Depending on how much time you're willing to invest, I would either create a new character or transfer. Balmung is full of good peeps.

This. I'm in the process of researching servers myself. Try to find one with a large raiding community (as large as can be expected anyway as well as being in your timezone). Some servers appear to have a lot of people who are indifferent to endgame. It's a slow process, though. Outside of the server forums progression threads, there isn't much to go on. You'll probably just need to make characters and ask around.

Priya, these three seem to be the ones with the biggest end game/raid communities -

Balmung
Excalibur
Leviathan (I think?)

Most of my friends are on Balmung (like myself) and a few on Leviathan. Never heard any of them complain about a bad community.

Yeah, I'm thinking Levi or Gilg. I'm on Excal, but it's been hard to find people who meet my times; I see a lot of PST peeps which is too late for me. :(

1 - Play with people
2 - Remember who is good
3 - Add them to your friends list
4 - Raid with them
5 - Profit

I don't think the OP means "bad" as in "toxic" but actually just bad. In which case, recommendations to join a Free Company or linkshell are OP's best bets. Set up Party Finders for difficult content and add people from that who you think are good to your friends list. It really helps to network and meet people.
