From how Yoshida put it, it doubt it. It seems they avoided thief on purpose because it would not fit the story.

Well, it may upset people, but it does make sense historically. FFI Thief turned into Ninja on upgrade.

Still the door isn't completely shut. Black Mage is technically outlawed magic as well.

I'm happy with a lot of this info, especially eternal bonding as my GF and My character can make things official when RP plots get to it. She still is hoping for info on Guns though.

Cool class choice, and for the people despairing about this another article said there would be more classes released along with it (Though for the tank and healer, but who knows? Maybe this will attract more to use those.)

The other article (not sure which one you meant), is inaccurate. The other classes won't be released with Ninja and rogue, they'll come later with the expansion :D

I'm disappointed by the lack of Thief as well. Even by another name, I see Thief as a different concept than Ninja and won't get nearly as much fun playing Ninja as I would a Thief.

I don't really agree with their reasoning for not having Thief either. Thief may have had its roots in petty crime or such but... really? No city would host a guildhouse? I don't see Limsa being above doing so. And I'd see them maybe utilizing them as couriers, spies, special ops, things along those lines. The dirty jobs that need to be done but not publicly.

I'm not saying rename Rogue to Thief either. I'd much prefer Thief be a Job with its own special abilities going forward. Maybe I can hope for it in the expansion...

Agreed. I see so many free companies that boast about numbers and belittle those who just prefer to have no more than 8 people or less for just them and their friends. It was as if Yoshida was unintentionally making them check their privilege.
