Is it possible to macro cover into covering your closest party member?

i seem to remember something like /targetpc targetted the closest person to you, that was years ago though

Let's see. I dug these out of my bookmarks. See if they might help a bit.

That last one has what you are looking for. Under Targeting Commands. As SheepySheepy stated, /targetpc is the syntax.

I bet we all knew that just didn't realize it ^.^

I use cover on mouse over. Gives me lots of quick options.

I'm working but its something along the lines of;

/micon cover
/AC cover <mo>
/AC cover <t>
/p cover <mo>

This allows me to use party list, focus target frame or in the game space to apply cover. If I don't have a valid mo then it'll cast on <t> if valid.

I just started using cover, works great as
/ac cover <tt>
/ac cover <t>
/p cover, run to tank

Used it once so far, just changed macros,again, ran horrible, 2 drg fighting to steal my aggro and I'm used to war for dungeons but I got all 3 commendations. Healer missed the blue circle in halitalli, covered perfect and the tag lets them know

Hey, here's my cover macro

/micon Cover
/ac Cover <mo>
/ac Cover <t>
/ac Cover <f>
/ac Cover <tt>

The order of targets here is particularly useful if you have a HUD that centers your party list a bit, such as here: http://i.imgur.com/TMpTPVe.png

<mo> targets mouseover target, so you just have to hover over the person or person's name you want to Cover
<t> lets you fall back to a targeted player if you're in a position where you need that.
<f> targets your /focustarget. Just click your most likely to need cover party member (healer) and type /focustarget. This will keep their name on screen, and you can target them with macros. I like this as a healer, too, for my tanks. This is the general fallback target if the other two conditions aren't met.
<tt> is last because it's really the least precise targeting method. If the above conditions don't apply, you can fall back on this, and assume it'll get it done.

I like the idea of using a /p message, as Killabye did. Might have to use that!
