What's the point of 100% Spirit Bond on gear you can't convert?

what really grinds my gears is that retainers give u back the gear u gave them with 1% spiritbond, wtf SE!?!?!

It'd be neat if items got a slight statistical boost once 100% spiritbonded.

Fun fact. Level 90 gear never got spiritbond until level 100 ear got introduced.

So you don't just "rent" gear off the market boards. Same reason why using an item for glamour binds it to you.
