How to successfully Grow Glazenuts... a guide

Unfortunately the cross breed for Glazenuts doesn't seem to be 100%.

I haven't had any failed cross breeds with any other combinations before where the cross was previously confirmed. Obviously I have had failed experiments. :p What a pity! Three bags of Seeds is still decent though. I used Grade 3 Topsoil for every seed and they were all tended and fertilized in unison. Just letting people know it's not a 100% cross and to plan accordingly.

I'm not sure any cross is 100% -- when I did Grade 3 Thanalan with Almond x Honey Lemon to get Apricots, I got several bags of almond seeds in addition to the apricot kernels I was actually looking for. Clearly the Almond x Honey Lemon cross is valid (or I wouldn't have gotten any apricot kernels), but it definitely wasn't perfect.

the cross itself for some of these are confirmed but there is a percentage or RNG that determines if you get a seed or not. So Prickly pineapple and Honey lemons will always produce a Apricot seed as long as the RNG is met. You will not get another type of seed from this, or should not from what I've seen so far. There are some plants that can act as a mother/father though (produce seeds and cross breed) so getting 6-8 sets of seed are possible. There was also a note during a patch release that mentioned certain soul can increase the number of seeds obtained. Although Im not sure it includes G5 seeds like glazenuts/jute or broombush

Fair enough, just from personal experience (and there is a lot of that) I am yet to not get seeds with a 'confirmed' cross; this is the first time. What a lousy time for it to happen!

If fauna genetics were this strange we'd have... oh dear... the ideas... Lalagyn, Qiqir'te, Elebold...

Linseed + Mandrake = Azeyma Rose
Azeyma Rose + Mandrake = Star Anise
Star Anise + Almond = Jute

Jute + Mandrake = Jute

Entire Jute pathway, other loops not yet discovered.

@Lyrinn: Any info on how to position seeds for each step and what soil to use, etc? Our FC gardener is away for 6 months for various reasons and he passed me any seeds he had so I'm sort of new to gardening. We have some glazenuts, but we need Jute now for our minions and skirts!
