Rank 10 chocobo problems! (Companion)

Sadly also done the same, put one point in healer for regen, then rest in DPS, didn't realise at the time it's a one time choice and you can't get the boarding for them unless all are in one tree

yeah this is the problem i had started in attacker, realized i wanted heals...finished it off no barding;;

It's difficult to try and maximize my choco when I unknowingly made it a healer and a DPS. Now it's impossible for em to get the Rank10 perks. It makes me not even want to level it anymore.

The barding is not just a perk, but also a punishment. You guys have to look at this in 4 dimensions. You make your chocobo more versatile by skilling it up using multiple skill trees. That is a reward in of itself. By "specializing" your chocobo, you are severely limiting its functionality. To balance this, the barding becomes a consolation prize.

If you're skilling up your chocobo just for barding, you're doing it wrong. However, that being said, if SE were to implement a reset of some sort, it should only apply to chocobos below rank 10 or chocobos who have at least 1 point in a 2nd tree. This would prevent someone who already obtained barding in one line from getting a 2nd set of barding unfairly (everyone should be limited to 1).

I'm in the same boat as the rest of you, not far off from Rank 10 now, mixed up my skills to make my bird useful and got the shaft for it. However, I totally wouldn't be opposed to them raising the cap for the Chocobo and giving out the barding on acquiring the rank 10 skill for a specific tree.

About 5 months now... still waiting on that companion reset...

I haven't done much in leveling my chocobo companion. While I haven't invested in multiple trees, I had started down the tanking line with the hopes that a tanking chocobo would be useful while leveling. Oh how wrong I was, as it's become pretty freaking useless. But, hey, at least I can now ride my chocobo while it's summoned... except that I favor riding my coeurl.

SE doesn't care, hence why we never hear a response to these threads and why they never mention it in the live letters.

I think most people would be happy with confirmation just to say they are looking into it, but nope nothing.

The chocobos already have next to no utility. You can't be serious.

If they had such utility why would this thread exist?

The devs replied to this last dec I think. They said it's coming... Still nothing though

I tried to find the thread but couldn't. I'm sure someone can find it if they look for more than 3 minutes.
