My Opinion on why WAR is the superior Tank.

Where PLD lacks in HP it sure makes it up in Def, CD wise. both Tank class has there strengths and weakness, PLD can use lower the strength of enemies while WAR can hold Aggro better then PLD due to his DPS being higher but that should never really be a problem. I prefer my PLD over WAR mainly because I find it a pain for healers to keep constantly topping up my vast amount of HP due to not having many def buffs as PLD dose. Then again each to their own.

Is solo tanking turn 5 doable for WAR? I know that without HG, tanking all 5 snakes at once is pretty tough.

Snakes hits like wet paper towels, if u know how CD works. You need the 10% str down from RoH just as much as Storm path, so use both tank if u want to do progression.

And man wish i can show this thread to pre 2.1 tank forums.

PLD can actually generate more enmity over time because they can simply spam their high enmity combo whereas WAR has to weave in SE/SP. WAR has better DPS, but enmity generation isn't a flat multiplier to DPS.

WAR and PLD require virtually identical healing (virtually identical because it varies from fight to fight as to which is actually better). What PLD has in DR buffs, WAR accomplishes with its plethora of other mechanics.

I'm going to assume you meant this as a demonstration of how well balanced the tanks became after the devs realized how broken the two were. Pre-2.1, WAR was explicitly worse than PLD which is why the pre-2.1 forums were filled with WARs complaining about the discrepancy.

How long will it take before people finally realize this is how it is?!

It's been at least 3 months now since warriors were fixed, and yet people still cling to the bandwagons of the 2.0 Launch....

I MAIN Paladin now(Not my choice =P) and I still have to defend the Warriors ability...

I still find people that believe that PLD is the de facto MT and that WAR is only good for pseudo-DPS or OT, even for content where WAR is explicitly better than PLD (like Levi EX or t5) or when the WAR is noticeably outgearing the PLD (I ran with a group yesterday that honestly expected the 5k hp PLD to be MT; I've got more than that with my DPS accs on).

The only reason I can figure as to why people would still think that WAR is an explicitly worse tank would be if they never come on the forums (or do any kind of research) and never check the patch notes. Even then, I find it strange that they wouldn't have figured it out over the last 4 months just running with random people.

And there is *still* people saying *zomg WAR HP > PLD* like in the OP... just.. /sigh.. There really needs to be some required reading, with a quiz at the end, before someone gets the ability to make a post in the tank forums. :rolleyes:

My favorite is WAR does way more damage.

It's interesting, I haven't unlocked the jobs yet, so that might be a difference (?). I'm leveling both GLD and MRD at the same time, and Maurader feels squishy in comparison.
