Needs Better Gear Comparison

A gear preview would be awesome, and we haven't received any confirmation on such feature.

BTW, I noticed the dye previewer has been implemented now. Thank goodness ^^ no more buying every dye to see how it'll look.

2.3 is pretty far away for such a feature and I think it should be implemented sooner rather then later as it would help people out with gearing there characters for the new coil turns.

It would be nice to have the ability to simply right click on an item and at the bottom is "compare" and a window will display with the item dialog box on the left and on the right you select the second item. Once both items are selected you would then in the middle have a differential breakdown between the two items (if they were the same slot aka head / sword ).

Interesting. It's a bit more complex than the initial suggestion, but would have the advantage of being able to compare to the appropriate gear rather than just to your currently equipped gear. (For instance, when something drops in a dungeon for a different class than your current one, and you have to remember what gear you have for that class to decide if it would be an upgrade you want to roll for.) It'd be nice to be able to, when tank gear drops, compare to your current tank gear; when DoW DPS gear drops, compare to your current DoW gear; when caster gear drops, compare to your current caster gear; all regardless of which you're wearing at the time.

Perhaps (to make finding it quicker), instead of selecting a second item, we could select a gear set and it would automatically compare to the matching slot of that gear set. I expect nearly everyone has a gear set that identifies the best gear they currently have for each class they're pursuing.

Nice idea! I often roll greed just in case because I don't have time to open my armory chest and check, then feel bad when it turns out I have better gear for that class already.

The issue I guess would be comparing with several other disciples of war classes (they can't all be on screen at once), or indeed several sets of a single class / job. So maybe by default it would show your equipped gear with full comparison, and beside this would be a list of your gearsets showing basic comparison (probably based on ilvl > damage / defence > otherstats):

Gearset1 -
Gearset2 -
Gearset3 +
Gearset4
Gearset5 -
etc...

"Gearset" would be the actual gearset name. In the example above you would quickly see that the gear may be better than the current Gearset3 piece. Gearset4 is not able to equip the new gear and the other Gearsets already have better gear in that slot. If you could then toggle through these to show the full comparison, you cold compare in finer detail.

I think one of the problems they may be having is the different abilities some equipment has compared to others (accuracy, determination and skill speed on one and accuracy, determination and crit chance on another) and how it would appear in the equipment that doesn't normally have that stat. Just a guess though.

But I'm eagerly waiting for this to come through. That and the style preview screen.
