FFXIV Restarting After Character Select

Okay, well I logged on after work and BOOM did it again.

I'm so ridiculously confused...

Would reinstalling help? :/

It's definately worth a try. Doesn't take that long anyway.
Edit: Maybe you have the same problem I had. Some files were corrupt (for whatever reason, one day they just were) and a few other players didn't display (they were completely invisible and untargetable for me).
So if this happened to your own character the result might be even worse. A fresh installation fixed the issue for me.

Well, reinstalled, first time I loaded boom, same problem...

Btw did you disable the automatic restart on system error? try this link
You might be able to get more information about the crash like this(like an IRQ error code).

Don't know how to test your video memory though. There should be tools for that.

No memory errors detected.

Sigh.

Hope it magically fixes itself when my friend comes over this weekend to put my stuff in a new computer case + new power supply.

If not, am I to assume there's an issue with my GPU still that isn't related to overheating..? But why only FFXIV arrrgh

FFXIV easily maxes out the GPU usage. It's like running a stress test...

I still don't understand what changed in my GPU to have it suddenly not work (FFXIV has been working since release) and to only not work for FFXIV...

Maybe a gremlin is living in it now!
Seriously maybe you should try getting your hands on some different GPU (the old one of a friend) and check if it's really the GPU. If it is you should contact the reseller/manufacturer about the issue and they might replace it.
