No - Parsers read into data much more than you can "eyeball", hence why they're a 3rd party tool. They also display DoT damage which you, as a player, can't get an accurate number by eyeballing unless you have the cleanest battle log known to man.
Yep, SE bans for it if you're dumb about it, Windower itself they don't care about (it is a 3rd party though) but it's the cheat like plugins that people adamantly defend and will only list say, the one that shows you TP and MP of players, but not the stuff that, you know, lets you see through walls...or run through them..or have exact readouts on monster pop times and so on.
They have to say that due to ToS but even Yoshida understands the use of parsers and said in an interview to not run around telling people you use it.
Problem with parsers are they are not fair to some classes. What if the monk has to step out since every red circle spawned by the boss. Or it had to be kited around and it was hard for them to keep position. You also have to careful with unofficial 3rd party stuff. You never know what it is doing in the background.
I had a friend suspended for windower and I installed it for him. He never talked about it or anything. It just got flagged. Maybe it was doing something in the background we didn't know about. But they don't really tell you much so he just let it go and took the suspension.
Is DoT even accurateness. Last I heard it was only an estimate.
Anyone who is intelligent with parsers always takes into account the encounter when comparing numbers. They're just a tool to be used, how they're used is up to the player.
If there's anything I'll never understand about XIV's playerbase, it's their illogical paranoia of parsers.
