Just something to remember when your farming Atma

I could care less about the RNG, What I don't like is that it can be from any fate in the entire zone. It should have been one specific fate in each zone, Even if it had nothing to do with the Zodiac Sign. Fate grinding is boring I didn't enjoy it Pre 2.1 and I don't enjoy it now.

The Brave Trials sound like fun even if it cost 13,500 Myth Tomes.

I don't think it should have been 1 fate from each zone because then it would have been completed way too quickly, and we'd have people complaining.

It would have been nice to see some kind of multi-step riddle/puzzle that involved thinking in order to obtain the crystal for that zodiac sign. Kind of like treasure hunting, it may require you to go to a certain spot, talk to certain npcs, use an item at a specified location during a certain time of day to encounter the monster/NPC you need...(we do have rare gathering nodes that involve items appearing at certain Eorzean times). Something like this would be elaborate, and maybe even take a lot of time to figure out how to get the crystal, but would not be RNG based.

For me personally, I'm still working on getting my atmas, but I've been pacing myself. I'm having a hard time deciding which weapon I want to use them for, because I don't want to hunt for more to do a second one.

And if you do have realistic expectations, you're still going to be just as upset and frustrated as you would be if your expectations were unrealistic, because this system is grindy and stupid.

It feels like you can do 1 weapon a week at normal pace. It's actually not that bad

Because everyone has time to farm 8 hours a day. I've farmed for a total of 5 hours now and I've only gotten 1 atma.

Took me 13 weeks to get 1 piece of gear from Coil because of the RNG involved of maybe my piece will drop, maybe it won't...
I don't see this going any better....
MMORPG's with RNG HATE ME.
I quit Tera because of the broken RNG enchanting system.
I don't want to have to quit because of this....

SE took the wrong message to heart when they saw all those people grinding FATEs 2.0 ... they reasoned that people did them because they actually like FATEs. SE completely ignored the near complete abandonment of FATEs (outside of those required for CT access and for Beast Tribe dailies) in 2.1.

NOTHING should be locked behind FATEs. Not CT, not Beast Tribe Dailies, not these weapons. These Atmas should have been locked behind some new trials, or perhaps had a chance to drop from dungeon bosses going to random people. SE needs to recognize that the majority of FF14 players dislike FATEs in general, and discontinue putting significant stuff behind them.

Hell, if they were so deadset on locking it behind fates, they could've at least made new high level fates to do instead of having to do a level 7 fate on a level-synced level 50 character.

I feel the only time I get them is when I don't expect it.

When I go out of my way and work my butt off grinding for hours and try to do every single fate that pops up: I get jack.

When I hardly do any work and leisurely complete a fate that just happens to be nearby: I get it.
