Patch 2.2 Crafting/Gathering Preview

I'm going to be making that Carby chair ASAP

EDIT: I'm sure there will be new i70 crafting gear; probably part of the new "standard" lv50 recipes, though it is possible to be in the "rare" ones too

I still have no real idea what Big Fishing is... Sounds like it's just new Fishing Achievements, which is... Disappointing... Can we get some actual information on it, rather than flavor text and pictures we could take right now? Do the Big Fish have a purpose in crafting/furniture? Is it a sort of server competition (weekly tally of who caught the biggest fish)? Is there a new mechanic to use with it or is it just more Mooching?

Lol they give crafters some much needed attention and instead of seeing it as a good change in direction, they are already complaining about something they don't even know anything about... Stay classy FFXIV forums.... stay classy.

60% of all fish in the game since 2.0 are not used for anything. The other 40% barely used.

I'm looking forward to most of it. Although I won't be able to take advantage of the house workbench as my lowest craft is 40, I like the idea as I think it will give people a reason to be at the house and encourage low level crafting.

Very excited about the new gathering nodes. Hoping it's items for the new recipes. I may be able to make some early profit there.

Still want to know more about what Big Fishing is, and if the fish will have any use.

Very much looking forward to the new crafting tools etc, however what does that mean for luminary, I'm assuming new tools have more craftsmanship and control, making luminary useless, I have 3 more to get and I'm close to it on 2 if them :/

At the very least we have Vanity (Glamour Crystals)

this is true, and i guess if the new tool is similar req to getting lum tools, its not completely wasted time. who knows, it may be a req to get master crafters book, i dont know. just dont wanna waste my time getting luminary tools

i just finished getting my last luminary :( and to find out that they will still be useless really sucks.. now sounds like i will have to rinse and repeat the process for the new tools...
