I didn't even say anything about a new class. I just pointed out the dual-wielding, which is a popular skill in final fantasy games and RPGs alike.

No I do not recall Thancred dual wield in 1.0 (even in that cutscene with gaius all he does is throw daggers and kunais) so I would be more than happy if you could prove me wrong. Yes I know the system was in the game for npc to do w/e they want but I don't see the need for them to go out of their way to show Thancred fighting with dual wield in 2.2 scenario unless it has even a tiny significance.
He's always been a single knife wielding Gladiator. So two knives....
We know they did in fact talk about new classes but nothing is concrete.
Not every video hints to new classes, lol
Besides if we do get new classes i would think only by 3.0 , i could be wrong
By the way,
This video is a great example how of the storytelling in 1.0 was so unbelievably better than it is now. The Circle feels real, and powerful. They act like they know what they're doing and they are here for a purpose.
The characters in ARR pale in comparison. They feel lifeless and static. They are like reminders of these cool characters I used to know, but are nothing like them anymore. This new video of Thancred acting like a badass actually made me kinda tear up because it's good to see him back to his old self.
Its sad the only NPC that's received any inkling of life in ARR is Cid (and they did a fairly decent job with him). I think characters (NPC) and getting to know them and their mysterious backgrounds was a strength in 1.0 and a serious weakness in ARR.
