Those look more like horns rather than ears. They're too curvy to be ears, IMO.

I'd laugh, demand that it be a playable race and remake my Draenei paladin. Then I'd complain that a) she can't use two-handed maces and b) the fact she'd be forced into tanking instead of being DPS. :O

So they're from Doma... When I think Doma, I think of this.

Maybe it's a totally original race unique to XIV that isn't just fanservice?

I would not have been able to keep a straight face if I said the above sentence. Probably Viera, it would make sense to be Viera, even though those look nothing like rabbit ears in scale or placement on the skull, but I'll hope it's something that surprises me. If it's as tepid as that trainwreck Mass Effect 3's Tali reveal, I will be forced to buy some number puzzles and commit sudoku.

You guys forget that it could easily be a Viera-like race but not have the exact same proportions as Viera do. If I remember correctly, SE acknowledged the popularity of Viera from various polls and forum posts, but didn't know how to go about it for the male counterpart. It's quite possible they "modified" the entire race so that it would look pleasing to the eye as either male or female, thus creating a new race essentially that isn't copy-paste Viera.

Of course this, in itself, is speculation.

You know... I'd ignore how the position of the "ear" doesn't match on the hood... The developers really dropped the ball on hats/hoods with ears, Miqo'te already suffer from this.
