I would say ilvl 60 is sufficient to do the instance. You need to have enough HP to avoid being one shotted. From my experience, I can tell you that what's really matter is knowing the mechanics.Even over geared people will have difficulties if they aren't familiar with the fights.

Oh, you mean the content that chronically overgeared people have created strategies for based on their gear and handed down to the community that tries to force the over-gear-required strat on under-gear-having players?

Because, I mean, yeah, I guess if you try to use strategies inappropriate for the gear you have, you'd probably have issues until you got appropriate gear. . .

What's the appropriate way to handle haukke, copperbell and pharos for a party consisting of ilv48 ppl armed with ilv55 weapons?

Is stupid that you need to have gear superior to what's on offer in the instance to be able to finish it. This is why I haven't and probably never will enter them.

AF gear and GC weapon or L2P

I've done it with ilvl 60-65 several times, with varying degrees of ease (I suppose it depends on if the other DD is much higher ilvl than me or not, I don't have a parser to compare damage output). You have to be very prompt about switching to the adds, and save cooldowns to use on them. I use food for it sometimes. It's usually a very close fight at ilvl 60-65.

I'm not sure what SE's reasoning was for the ilvl requirements. All I can assume is that they felt it was high enough that a single player being that low wouldn't destroy the run. Most of the content with ilvl requirements would be extremely difficult if not impossible with all players clocking in at the minimum required gear level. The fact that HM dungeons drop level 60 gear is somewhat misleading. It's perfectly fine to run these dungeons with some gear under level 60, but you'll have a very hard time if you're looking for upgrades primarily from the chests rather than the tomes.

Perhaps their reasoning is to run through the first sections several times to pop chests, and then beat the final boss when fully outfitted with gear from that dungeon? There wasn't originally a penalty for abandoning a dungeon, was there? Their ilvl rating isn't the most intuitive system to judge a dungeon by.

This gives me an idea. I'll try running it later today with my FC as ilevel 48 and see how well/bad that goes. xD Just for the lulz of course.

It should be doable at i level 50 if you single target the adds on the last boss and have stoneskin/galvanize on people for when the boss does full room aoe. It will not be a fast run though. I70 healers can handle speed runs here with me in i80 blm, my brother in i89 war with dps jewelry and an i70 dps of minimal skill, so an i50 healer should be able to handle a slow paced run.
