Please, no. We don't need to kill one of the few supply/demand items left in the economy.
Be careful who you call a bot. I've been working on crafting lately, and almost every single time I go farming items, about 15 minutes later someone is /telling me to check if I'm a bot. It's annoying and rude. My guess is it's mostly people who are being territorial over mats.
The only thing I can say is, don't let the bots botting get to you. Nor SE's "lack of response". Avoid the area so you don't have to be reminded that they are there. I use to get so frustrated when I was out mining, reporting on bots, mining... more reporting. Only to see them there time and again. It made the activity unenjoyable. So, rather than let it raise my blood pressure, I went to other zone and harvested other materials ^^
I'm curious, what are they doing? Is it by any chance an aoe skill that doesn't require you to target, like miasma II? You can make a totally legit farming macro /ac miasma II, /wait 90, rinse repeat and only need to look back at your screen every 10 minutes or so to hit the macro again. I've heard of people doing this while playing stuff on another monitor; I'm too paranoid to do it myself tbh.
@ Diadumenos seizure inducing sig much?
same they are botting crazy all day over 40 reports and he still sits there farming. At one point my friend was Pulled by a temp GM for saying 1 bad word while the guy was botting and ruining prices...
I followed one around for 2 hours, out claiming it, then the owner came back and yelled at me for griefing his bot. LoL
Bots will always be here. There just needs to be more than one place to obtain an item.
It's like Diremite Webs. Why the hell are there only two spawns of them in the entire world that yields the item, when we have countless spawns of useless Marmots? Also, why can't those items be obtained via Botany? We can get feathers from various birds, but a web being stuck in a tree is unheard of? Come on Square...
in Tonberry there was this lala bard who hides inside 1 of the bushes (close to the tree) you cannot see him. i could only tell from the arrow animation firing effect that its coming from the bushes. automatically fires at 2 Apkallus as soon as they spawn. i would see him every time i go there. any time. any day. he was always there doing the same thing.
till recently. i dont see him anymore.
I wonder why some of the known buttheads in our Eorzea don't spend more time targeting the bots...sounds like a perfect "SUPPOSED" minority population to grief. Please look forward to it. I'd spend a few minutes watching from the sidelines, cheering them on and eating my popcorn.
What would they move on to...? Eggs are the only thing really worth much these days because everything else comes from ...and this MAY BE A SHOCK...multiple sources including vendors.
Honestly, they do need to move these to vendors - The economy will never recover as long as people are undercut happy so there's really no point in not making this quality of life change.
