Mimiron's quotes and music is what made it memorable for me. The closest thing here is probably Titans music changing as the phases change. Really wish they did it for more bosses.

Faction Champions was a pretty fun fight, the mechanics changing due to the comp changing made it somewhat challenging, but really, it wasn't that hard as a whole.

ToC was over all, rather boring, at least for me.

I would say the main weak point of FFXIV bosses are their arenas. Every boss arena is this bland circle that you just stand in and pew pew. Where are the multiple floors, portals, unique location, etc? On top of that, I hate the design of coil. Too much orange for my taste and for Twintania to be the last fight, it isn't memorable at all. Very challenging, but nothing special in terms of style. In fact, its boss arena is even worse than others.

My last MMO was Rift and it had some epic final bosses in raids like Crucia, Regulos, Akylios, etc. You can youtube them and see for yourself. It's a shame because FFXIV's normal dungeons are actually very well designed. Why not bring similar designs to raids? Coil has a boring theme. CT is better, but still nothing special with bosses. I already can't wait for them to be done with CT/Coil storylines because I'm not a fan of their setting - unless they change them drastically in future. I hope so.

Regulos in Rift was pretty awesome, was some randomness thrown into it which kept people on their toes. Volan and the twins in Infinity Gate. But I think we will see more fun bosses over time as they test new mechanics. Like they learnt what worked and what didn't so much with t1-5 of coil.

i still remember some old mmo enjoyable fights , but in some months no1 will remember the bosses we are facing now...boring scripted bosses meh....

the only 1 is ultima and thats because the music :)

Hell no, unless Weight of the Land gets a cast time increase of at least 0,5 seconds.
It's already a pain to avoid Weights at 100+ ms, when you can anticipate when they're coming. Have this cast randomly, and those people will get screwed over.
Not to mention that you'd never be sure when he'll use double Weights, or the possibility of getting super bombs during egi's (on Extreme)

I'd be all for bosses that are more random in using their abilities, but Titan isn't one of 'em.

I think it's subjective based on age of the gamer really. Old school FFXI generation remember the massive 64+ raids that took hours to finish (Dynamis). WoW started adding in unique mechanics and tricks. Now we are moving forward with more action and avoidance mechanics.

I think this thread shows that a lot of people don't enjoy the very scripted fight and would prefer some more randomize in the encounter.

Agree. Would be an absolute nightmare for casters

FFXI had a variety of battles. Divine Might, Kirin, King Behemoth, Dynamis lord, Fafnir, many different types of bcnms, etc.
FFXIV just feels end game feels like deja vu. Everything is phases/rotations, even when using your abilities.
