It changes the ears completely. On my lala I have look floppy small ears. When I put a hat or cowl on they are up higher and way longer and pointy. My ears aren't pointy.

I think I remember finding a hat that I was so terrified to look at because it was so ugly, that I immediately disabled head slot and left it that way ever since. (I don't remember what hat it was though.) Hats most definitely deform ears though, especially some of the lowbie tank gear (shrinks ear size by at least a factor of 1/2, I don't even).

I can understand helmets being molded to protect the ears (that's what metal does), but it makes no sense for cloth and leather hats. Who would even bother taking the time to create pockets on something that wouldn't really protect them anyway? It's illogical. Cloth and leather head gear should all just have slots for the ears to stick through.

Armored tails would be cool to bring back*from 1.0, but I guess they were removed due to ps3 limitations.
