This thread is perfect. I've run CT about 15 times this week in between work shifts. I haven't seen Royal Shoes in weeks.
They just dropped about 15 minutes ago. At the start of the run I made this big deal about praying to the RNGods for them. I rolled a 2 with Need. The WHM with ilvl 90 Cleric's Boots rolled an 18. Her SCH now has full Royal. I'll just sit in this lava and ruminate on how empty the world is.
I went 1/1 on MNK body, 1/3 on crimson feet firs two weeks.
Then my 3rd, 4th and 5th weeks I must have gone 30-40 runs per week trying to get the right drop.
I ended up getting everything I need from CT for jobs that aren't in i90 gear. But I literally did not do anything else for weeks.
The left side of my neck is still sore.
CT has just started and right away a tank from one group decides to sprint to the first area where the trash mobs are. Mean time, the 2 other groups are moving at regular speed after casting protect and right away you see a warning of 15 sec before the area is sealed off. The tank pulled without the other two groups even being near by. Tank decided to yell at the other groups saying we were to slow and we were noobs. I LOL and the tank ended up rage quitting.
Every time I enter CT it ends up a horror story!
In all serious tho, I spammed for 2 weeks trying to get the BLM body. In the end I was in a group that the entire FC(they'd entered as 5 in 1 ally) was trolling, wiping on every boss in there purposely, my Mrs was like I bet you the body drops at the end, low and behold we manage to kill the final boss without the other ally trolling with like 10mins left and the body drops, lol..
Another, our tank leaves after the bone boss, we manage to go and kill Atomos with only 1 tank, we start the 2nd boss and our tank spot gets filled. The fight ends and I'm hoping the PLD feet drop since they are pretty rare and I haven't seen them much. They drop and the tank who just entered that has not even touched the boss lots the feet, he wins and leaves immediately afterwards.
I'd like to see a Forfeit system where an item is rewarded on "hold" status. so if that person leaves the instance immediately after looting, they exit the instance to find that its been removed from their inventory and it would then be awarded to the next highest roller in the instance.
I can handle not getting drops, trolls (who usually end up kicked anyway), people leaving after getting loot, but the only horror stories are when the boss glitches. Had last boss do his flare attack over and over and over with no end. That's the worst, as you have to go back in queue to try and get in a working one, and you are out any myth for the run. :p

On my very first run through CT, following the 2.1 patch, loot went like this:
I was healing, but I am looking for both Caster and Healer items. First, Caster boots drop. I roll greed since I am currently a healer, but we have a caster in the team and he needs and wins them. Then, the healer chest drops. I roll need, but the other healer in the team wins it. Finally, at the end, the Caster robe drops. That caster in the group says "I KNEW I SHOULDNT HAVE ROLLED ON THE BOOTS!"
And that's how I became one of the only people on my server to wear the crimson robe during that first week.
