Why I stopped paying for FFXIV

These kind of threads don't help anybody. if you want to quit, just quit. Don't tell anyone else about it and make a dramatic exit (most of the im quitting threads are posted by people not actually quitting anyway)

Latency is caused by a variety of factors all over the internet, Not all, but most, of these factors are beyond SE's control.

Again, this is a pointless reason. It doesn't help SE, or anybody on this forum, to say "i'm quitting cuz lags." It's a customer SE would have lost anyway since most (not all, but most) causes of lag are beyond their control.

Posting I quit threads can only serve to drag down the community and serve the poster of such a topic's need for attention.

maybe when they start to wonder where all the players are going and are forced to do free weekends and other promotions BARELY 4 months into the life cycle of the their game. maybe just maybe they will see these topics and fix their stuff. one can hope

if everybody stays quiet nothing will ever get fixed. but perhaps this is what you people want? perhaps everything is fine on the titanic no need to worry :D

I am a ps3 user after all ( thought PC connection was a lot simpler ) but it is out of my understanding ^-^'

This whole section just reeks of "i'm bad" and "other games aren't as challenging so I'm going to play those." Short of the most crazy insane latency (e.g. 10+ second lag spikes) titan can be totally beaten by anyone capable of learning the fight. He does the same things in the same amount of time in the same order EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. It is a 100% scripted battle. You can anticipate things you need to dodge.

Ancedotal evidence like "i played this other game and I can win!" creates an illusion of one thing being broken and the other not. As I said before, you can probably dodge in the other game just because they make it easier on you (e.g. timing is more loose, etc). I've played few MMOs where dodging is such an important skill.

I had a friend on my server who played from Australia, halfway across the world, and she was able to dodge at Titan and BcoB just fine. From halfway across the world with at least a 250+ ping. It is not SE's servers that are the cause of your lag if it even exists at all. I could probably come over to your house and beat him on your computer for you just fine.

Actually, it's a "why I stopped paying", not a "why I quit" post. Just saying :p

I was curious to see how many posts until someone would come and make a comment about being bad, which seem to be the rule whenever the delay problem is mentionned here. Really, we probably all suffer from collective hallucinations/are compulsive liars.

It's not just in primals, it's everywhere in the game.

Yes, I am bad, I'm sorry, I don't have 5 gold medals under my name. I will never have superhuman reflexes and a top notch connection/system. I will never get to have a go at bads on the forums telling them just how bad they are and how good I am and how I could come to their house to beat the encounter for them.

I thought I was lagging too until I realized that moving as soon as the animations come allows me to escape with no problems, and even some room for error.

It's your ISP or you. If it was the game, no one would have beaten Titan HM, or be farming everything between Titan HM and Twintania.

I knew it would come too :p

Not all of us can play like this person... if I did it like him, I'd be dead on the first Landslide. I have to be on the move before the marker even appears :(

It's the same for me. That's how I beat normal mode Titan I just stayed on the move the whole time and prayed that he doesn't cast it on me while I stop to cast heals. It was doable but took many attempts and wasn't enjoyable either. I don't feel like it's fun when other players can dodge it just fine and I have to always anticipate stuff ahead of time, be always on the move and pray he doesn't cast stuff on me while I stop to cast a heal on a tank.
